Five festivals join improvfestivals.org

Five festivals were added to improvfestivals.org, spanning Russia, Sweden, Germany, Italy, and Australia, and a few festivals already on the site updated their dates and submission windows.

New festivals on the site

Best Russian Improv Festival runs August 17-23, 2026 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, organized by Improv Russia over a week of bar shows, team battles, and master classes. Submissions for the 2026 edition closed June 7.

Midsummer Comedy Fest takes place June 24-28, 2026 in Stockholm, Sweden, hosted by the Presens Impro collective. Now in its second year, it spans improv, stand-up, sketch, and musical comedy, with workshops alongside the shows. Applications for 2026 are closed.

Pandora Improv Festival is a residential festival in Marina di Massa, Italy, running June 11-14, 2026 with workshops, evening shows, and a Eurostage contest. Registration for 2026 is closed.

Improvention returns to Canberra, Australia December 7-13, 2026. Run by Impro ACT and also known as the Canberra International Improv Festival, it centers on multi-day workshop intensives that end in mainstage performances. Submissions are open, with multi-day packages available to anyone who has completed a foundational improv course.

IMPRO - Internationales Improfestival Berlin has been run by the ensemble Die Gorillas since 2001. Its next edition is scheduled for April 12-18, 2027 at the Mehringhof and Ratibor theaters, bringing guest improv ensembles to Berlin stages.

Festival updates

Third Coast Improv Fest in Nashville opened submissions for its 10th edition, running November 4-8, 2026. Registration closes July 31, and the festival expands across two venues at Marathon Village: Third Coast Comedy Club and The Loft at Third Coast.

Improfestival Salento opened registration for its 15th edition, held July 29 through August 2, 2026 in Gallipoli, Italy. The residential festival runs until places sell out, with workshops, evening shows, and beachside programming on the Ionian coast.

Maidstone Improv Festival in Maidstone, Kent posted its 2026 program: seven events across three venues from Thursday through Sunday, with a Saturday Improvaganza headline show and a free late-night jam.
