TÖRN Improfestival

Overview

TÖRN is Hamburg's international festival of improvised theatre, presented by the association TÖRN e.V. together with the Hamburg improv company Steife Brise. For each edition it assembles an ensemble of experienced improvisers from around the world, who work together over a long weekend of festival shows and an international workshop program for different experience levels. The festival runs periodically (recent editions include 2017, 2019, and 2024), alongside related strands like the TÖRN Cup competition and TÖRN AROUND, which brings improv workshops into schools.

The next edition is set for March 11-14, 2027, under the theme "Connect!", with a program of shows and workshops built around the theme of connection.

Workshops

TÖRN runs an international workshop program taught by its visiting ensemble, with sessions pitched at a range of experience levels.
