Overview
ImprovCon is an inaugural four-day convention dedicated to improvisational theater, running August 20-23, 2026 at the Town & Country Resort in San Diego. Founded by Chris Colthurst and inspired by the Comic-Con model, the event brings together both newcomers and experienced improvisers for workshops, performances, panels, and community events. The convention encompasses both comedic and dramatic improvisation styles.
With 100 shows, 128 workshops, and 45 panels, ImprovCon is one of the largest improv gatherings ever staged. The full schedule is live at improvcon.com/schedule. Workshop registration opened July 2, 2026.
The lineup includes TJ & Dave, Scott Adsit, Susan Messing, 3Peat, Asian AF, WeirDass, and Impro Theatre, plus a SuperShow featuring cast members from NBC's Superstore. Theater partners include Mockingbird Improv, Finest City Improv, and ImprovCity.
Submissions
ImprovCon accepted submissions for mainstage shows, feedback-enhanced performances, side stage and special sets, and interactive/immersive experiences. Submissions opened March 6 and closed April 30, 2026. Selected performers receive a complimentary Play Pass.
