Overview

ImproFest is one of the largest and oldest international improv festivals in Poland, held annually in November in Kraków. The festival was founded by Grupa AD HOC, a Kraków-based ensemble established in October 2008 and one of the country's first groups dedicated to theatrical-comedic improvisation. Over more than a dozen editions it has hosted Polish improv groups and stand-up performers alongside international guests from the UK, USA, and across Europe.

The five-day program mixes long-form and short-form shows, theatre sports, themed performances, musical improv, and stand-up sets, split between a main stage at Klub Studio and a smaller stage at Klub Żaczek. International acts perform in English, and Polish acts in Polish, so non-Polish-speaking visitors can follow a meaningful share of the program.

Headliners

Recent international guests include Austentatious (UK, Jane Austen-style improvised novels), Neil Curran, and Stacey Smith. Past Polish performers have included Abelard Giza, Kacper Ruciński, Szymon Jachimek, Wojciech Tremiszewski, and groups such as Kabaret Moralnego Niepokoju, Hrabi, and Limo.
